Have you had a face lift or complications with revision face lift, surgery that is affecting the flow of fluid? Especially scar tissue forming post surgery, lymphatic drainage performed by a trained therapist is perfect for reducing and recovering from complicated surgery’s.
Manual Lymphatic Drainage is a great way to detox your skin, reducing puffy and dark circles from eyes, and clearing sinus congestion. A very light facial, no cream or oils are used, great for people with sensitive skin.
The lymphatic drainage facial is not only a great way to refresh and relax and can be used as a beauty and wellbeing facial, its also structured to treat a number of medical issues as well, skin conditions and head injuries.
People with inflammation acne and atopic (genetic) eczema dermatitis are prone to constant lymph node swelling this inflammation reaction causes the skin to become red, hot and itching. This disease causes constant scratching the skin, depleting skin barriers and creating more of a chronic inflammation, stress levels rise causing another acute reaction.
lymphatic drainage removes the build up of irritation under the skin, and by clearing the lymph nodes that are swollen, can relieve the itching, redness and heat, as the redness and heat are reduced itching dramatically subsides, nutrients can start to work on skin restoration and soften lymph node fibrosis.
Working on the face, neck and head can also influence lymphatic vessels and nodes in and around the brain. Over the last number of years patients have been returning to have facial lymphatic drainage for brain injuries, intercranial swelling associated with accidents, concussions or tumour’s non cancerous or cancerous.
Ongoing sinus issues relating to and as a side effect from intercranial swelling, the none invasive treatments clears lymphatic overflow, reduction of pressure that can build up causing sinus and high blood pressure. An insert from the article link below indicates the sinus interaction with the brain lymphatics.
“The major pathway taught in medical school is that waste around cells goes into cerebrospinal fluid—the clear fluid that bathes the brain and spinal cord—and from there gets absorbed directly into the blood through structures called arachnoid granulations. Reich also explained that some fluid is understood to drain through tiny pores in our skulls, mostly at the top of our noses, and then get absorbed into the lymphatic system through the mucous membranes of the nose, and then, from there, go down into the lymph nodes of the neck.”

This discovery has thrown a spotlight on the lymphatics system in the head and the role it plays in maintaining clearing of fluid and pathogens in the brain.

“All I can say about Teresa and the Movement Clinic is MAGIC HANDS! She has made a significant difference in my skin which has suffered from PCOS and Mild Rosacea and Acne ( I know overkill) over the past 18 months. I love my visits there and not only does my skin leave glowing but she is also a delight to talk with. I look forward to my results as we continue this journey together.” S-A-B- Melbourne, Photo below are from the MLD sessions.
Concussion Multiple Times:
Review of first session after manual lymphatic drainage post concussion head injury.
Thank you for a detailed feedback from a clients first session of manual lymphatic drainage post concussion. Head trauma ten years ago and a recent concussion, advice, referral from a medical doctor suggested that MLD may help with reduction of inflammation without the need of painkillers.
Research is starting to come through in the last couple of years about inflammation and trauma head injuries.
Manual lymphatic drainage is not well known for treating concussion and brain injuries, but with more people having side effects with pain killers, MLD may be a good long term treatment plan.

“thanks so much for fitting me in on Wednesday and for being so open, informative, supportive and therapeutic.
I have had a positive response to the MLD. I have slept really well Wednesday night – and then had an almost anxiety/adrenalin day Thursday day – face planted knocked out couch sleep 4pm-8pm and then wide awake Thursday night. Solid restorative sleep 5am-10am this morning.
I havent really had restorative sleep in recent memory- so I’m very pleased. I know we discussed PTSD etc during the appointment – and how my recent Concussion and sharp treatment at uni has flared my PTSD/body.
So, restorative sleep is the jackpot of post treatment response. Thank you.
I have noticed muscles ‘flicking’ after short walks and twitching face/head muscles and body generally – even without activity.
And my hands/arms especially, but entire body, shaking Like I’m cold. Even with a wheat bag or blow heater.
My knees and ankles feel amazing.
My concussion symptoms have eased, but are still there.
My urination has really improved. No signs of dehydration colour. And for the first time in a long time – I’ve felt thirsty- and have taken in a lot of water/green tea.
I still hav lost my appetite to eat – since concussion . (Vertigo and nausea symptoms still there – but eased)
My digestion has been great, and not bloating or discomfort.
I didn’t want to send my reply immediately – but wrote it here and added to it as I noticed the response.
I’m very excited to follow up treatment/s.”

Sinus:
Client review of sinus sessions.
I have been going to the Movement Clinic for years for eyes and facial swelling associated with sinus problems. I have tried facial lymph drainage with at least 5 other therapists, but I didn’t see results with any of them. Teresa is great! She knows her stuff and you can see the puffiness and swelling go down immediately even just after one treatment. Highly recommend the Movement Clinic! C-Melbourne
