Intercranial Swelling, Brain Cancer and Chemotherapy

Intercranial swelling side effects of Chemotherapy and Cancer.

This post is the outcome of a patients first session of manual lymphatic drainage for intercranial swelling from brain cancer and the chemotherapy side effects.

Thank you to my client who has let me publish her lymphatic drainage session and hopes that more people that are suffering the same can find a way to give them relief without pain medication.

Client is a 46 year old female, that has brain cancer and has been on chemotherapy for one year with on and off radiotherapy treatments, over the last couple of months has had terrible intercranial swelling.

The following are point form outcome after a 45min MLD session using the Dr Vodder technique.

  • Taste and Saliva returned, before MLD was not able to taste food and mouth extremely dry.
  • Strong solid sleep for a number of nights after session, previously had not been able to sleep due to night sweats.
  • Nose and ears have been unblocked since MLD, can now smell and hear.
  • Night sweats head has totally reduced, head feels cool and not hot.
  • Cooked for 14 people with ease, used to deligate cooking istructions to children, burnt 5 pots due to lack of concentration, no burnt pots after MLD session can now smell and hear if anything is burning.
  • Energy has returned
  • Eye strain from swelling has reduced can now watch tv or go outside without sunglasses on.
  • Speech and facial swelling have receded, much more vibrant in appearance.
  • Bending down to do up shoe laces or getting out of a chair with ease, no need to hold onto objects or walls due to dizziness, used to feel like fluid was pushing from the back to front of head.

We still have a number of issues relating to the rest of the body, but the outcome of the first session has been a welcomed change from her everyday battle.  We are slowly working towards improving and maintaining control of swelling as cancer treatments continue.

The technique used in this session was the Dr vodder medical facial covering the face, full head and neck, concentrating more on sinus and back of the head.  Every session will be different depending on the client and the outcome of the previous session.
