The Movement Clinic uses the technique of lymphatic taping for all bruising, lymphoedema, Breast Cancer swelling, trauma and post surgical scars. The tape used is called Cure Tape and Cure Tape Punch.
Cure Tape is constructed from layers of elastic cotton tape, which is hypoallergenic, adhesive, water resistant and has the elasticity equal to human skin and can stay on the body for up to five days.
The tape works by creating a continued lymphatic drainage after the therapist has completed treatment sessions. Cure Tape is applied to the skin whilst the limb or skin is held in a stretched position, once the tape has been applied and the limb or skin relaxed, the tape lifts the skin creating a wave like effect. This lifting of the skin causes a continued lymphatic fluid flow.
Cure Tape is placed in accordance with the medical pathology or secondary complication of the client, individual assessment is crucial for the application of Cure Tape to have a positive effect.
Extensive research and development is being done to establish more pathology’s for its use.
